What motivates you? Part 3

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

“What’s important to you about your financial future?” and “what has to happen for you to be able to realise that future?” We hear so much today about increased living costs, increased energy fees, increased insurance premiums, increased mortgage rates, increased debt burdens and increased financial stress. It seems that many people are swimming against the tide in a sea of financial uncertainty.  Click HERE to view full posting

If You Were a Seed

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Greetings

I know this is probably rude of me to ask, but allow me ask you a couple of questions. If your current lifestyle was a seed and you took that seed outside and planted it, what do you think would grow back? Would it be a completely new lifestyle or would it be the same lifestyle you experience now?

If you think the same lifestyle would grow back, why do you suppose this would happen?

Perhaps one of the reasons is that over the years, our brain collects, stores and responds to thousands of subconscious visual and auditory images. These images establish patterns which then become our personal truths. The more something becomes a personal truth, the more our brain establishes neuro-shortcuts to support the rapid deployment of those truths.

It’s these neuro-shortcuts that now determine what we believe and how we behave. They also determine the way we process information, the results we get and how we perceive our present results.

In short, it’s these neuro-shortcuts that determine how we develop and how we experience life.

When we believe that any of the images we hold are true, our subconscious mind is designed in such a way that it never deviates from the direction of those truths. In the big scheme of things, your personal truths are responsible for establishing the pathways you’ll take throughout life. If you never develop new truths, you’ll never deviate from your current direction.

So what happens if some of your truths are based on false perceptions and outdated information?

Over the years I’ve discovered that most people I meet attempt to create economic and personal freedom from thinking and feeling platforms based on old and outdated information that’s still acting as their internal guidance system.

Unless you change these neuro-shortcuts you can never grow a new you.

Mark Twain noted that, “The inability to forget is far more devastating than the inability to remember.” In other words failing to let go of old stuff is far more devastating than not knowing what to do.

If you never set out to change the neuro-shortcuts that are acting as your internal guidance system, it doesn't matter how many times you plant seeds of desire. The only lifestyle that can grow back is the one based on your dominant subconscious personal truths. Again we can refer to Mark Twain who observed that, “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

Change your truths; change your results

Until next time
