I don't know about you, but seeing that photo of Ms. Lara Bingle splashed across the media caused several emotions.
My first reaction was of extreme unease at the expression on that young
lady's face. It is the face of a victim, the expression of a young
woman who quite definitely did not want to be photographed.
Secondly I wondered why a nationally respected women's magazine
would add to her predicament by publishing the photo. Predictably of
course every other form of media then added to the poor woman's
distress by reporting the reporting of it ad nauseam.
As a Blog Squadder, I am aware that Perth Woman Magazine's editorial policy would not allow such a thing. (This was recently confirmed when the
Editor rejected an anonymous offer to publish risque photos of a
certain ruggedly handsome Blog Squadder in my.....I mean his shower!)
I know its voyeurism, I know we are fascinated by the slow motion train wreck that is the footie-ographer of Ms Bingle.
But what would happen if no-one looked?
What do you think Perth Woman?
